STOP NYC FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH LAW-BREAKING CONTRACTORS

We demand the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the City Council stop allowing contractors on the City’s Enhanced Review List to perform work on highly subsidized projects, such as the La Central development. Contractors who land on the City’s watch list have either broken the law or have put workers’ lives at risk. Lax and ambiguous procurement and funding processes, managed and overseen by HPD, have culminated in an aggressive and exploitative economy in the affordable-housing industry.

The City and HPD have a responsibility with tax paying New Yorkers to ensure public subsidies come with public responsibilities.

City Council & HPD: DO RIGHT BY BRONX’S WORKING-CLASS FAMILIES AND STOP THE CITY’S RELIANCE ON LOW-ROAD CONTRACTORS!
